ABOUT JOY R. BUTLER

Joy R. Butler is a transactional business lawyer who offers clients expertise in private equity financing, mergers and acquisitions, copyright, trademark, entertainment and internet law. She has a law degree from Harvard Law School and a B.A. degree in economics from Harvard College. She is a member of the District of Columbia, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania Bars.

Business and Corporate Law Experience
Ms. Butler’s business and corporate law experience includes work on contract negotiations, private placement financings, and company sales. She has worked on over 100 securities offerings, most of which were Regulation D transactions and limited offerings. She has worked on over 50 mergers and acquisitions ranging from $500,000 to $25,000,000+ and falling into a variety of industries including software, media, cellular and wireless communications, manufacturing, and professional services.

Entertainment and Intellectual Property Law Experience
Ms. Butler helps individuals and companies protect their rights and structure successful projects in music, film, television, book publishing, internet ventures, and new media. She has represented clients negotiating deals with ABC affiliates, BET, Clear Channel, the Cutting Corporation, Dell, Discovery, Hewlett-Packard, NBC affiliates, Orchard Music, Touchstone Television, Twentieth Television (Fox/MY Network), and XM Satellite.
